The fact that he grew up in the "Great North" is actually one of the things I love the most about him.
Growing up in an environment like that tends to make a person relentless. You have to be, to contend with the elements. And my husband is relentless. He is relentless in the way he loves God. He is relentless in the way he loves people. I have yet to meet another human being who rivals his compassion for others. He is relentless in the way he loves our daughters.
And he was relentless in believing that I could recover.
John is the Eastern National Director for Celebrate Recovery. He is a therapist. He is also a pastor at our local church in North Carolina. He is very good at what he does and has helped a lot of people.
He said to me the other day, "I feel like my purpose in this world is to love you. If I can do that, then I will feel like I accomplished what I was put on this earth to do."
Yes, he really is that wonderful of a person. I am one lucky girl.
