When is it time to get help?
I would be the first to admit that there are no easy solutions when it comes to eating disorders. The disorder itself is very complex. I would never presume to diagnose anyone or hand out advice in attempt to "cure" anyone.
If you are concerned that you, or someone you love, may be dealing with something more than you are equipped to handle, please click on the link below to access a really helpful screening tool. It is a simple quiz, designed for ages 13 and up, to determine if it is time to reach out and ask for help.
Please remember that you are not alone. People from all walks of life; every race, gender, age, and orientation struggle. It is a dangerous misconception that only young, white, "perfect" girls have eating disorders. Help is available for you, no matter who you are.
Another great resource is Eating Disorder Hope. Eating Disorder Hope offers information and resources for anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder and all forms of disordered eating. All are welcome in our vibrant online community.
It is also a good idea to reach out to find a Celebrate Recovery group, even if you intend to go into treatment. The best recovery plan involves a wide variety of support. The people you form relationships with in your Celebrate Recovery groups will be there for you as you prepare to go into treatment and will also be waiting to welcome you when you return home.
